Maruti Suzuki, Honda win JD Power awards

Firms ranked on the basis of automotive customer satisfaction studies. Global marketing information services company JD Power gave carmakers Maruti Suzuki, Honda Cars India special recognition awards for their “continued outstanding performance in meeting customer expectations” at an event in New Delhi last week.

Tyre manufacturer MRF was given the award for “continued outstanding performance in original equipment tyre satisfaction” category.

In a statement, JD Power said that Maruti Suzuki was ranked highest in the India Customer Service Index Study. Honda City from the Honda Cars stable was ranked highest in the mid-size car segment in initial quality study.

The statement added that during the event, JD Power Asia Pacific’s top executives also recognized the highest-performing auto manufacturers in JD Power’s 2013 syndicated studies. These study results were based solely on the evaluations provided by verified vehicle owners in India.

In the vehicle dependability study for 2013, JD Power said that Maruti Suzuki A-Star and Ford Figo were ranked most dependable in the compact and premium compact segments respectively. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire emerged as the most dependable in the entry mid-size segment while Chev­rolet Cruze was ranked in premium mid-size category. In the MUV/MPV category, it was Toyota Innova. The most dependable mid-size car was Honda City.
