The process of filing of nominations will begin in 127 Lok Sabha constituencies across 16 states, including Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday with the issue of poll notification by the Election Commission (EC).
While 122 constituencies will go to polls on April 17, five segments of the three north-eastern states of Assam (3), Tripura and Sikkim (1 each) will have elections on April 12.
The scrutiny will be held on March 27 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 29. The next phase of elections is on April 24, and the notification for 117 seats will be issued on March 29. According to the EC, notifications were issued calling for nominations in 105 seats on three consecutive days from March 13.
