1 killed, 25 hurt as bus falls into drain

Mohan Kumar (25), a garment worker and resident of Karenahalli, is the deceased. The condition of five among the injured, including bus driver Mahadevaiah, is critical. The injured were shifted to Bidadi Government Hospital, Rajarajeshwari Hospital near Kengeri and Nimhans.

The Karenahalli-KR Market bus was on its way to K R Market when the accident occurred. The bus fell into the roadside drain when the driver suddenly applied brakes to avoid a dog.

Mohan Kumar had got engaged on November 3 and was on his way to meet his fiancee on Thursday when the accident occurred, his friend Ramesh said.

Student dies in accident

A Master of Tourism Administration (MTA) student was killed on the spot when his two-wheeler came under the rear wheels of a bus in Malleswaram on Thursday evening.

Puneet N M (22), hailing from Somwarpet taluk in Kodagu district was on his way towards Navarang Theatre to meet his friend when the accident occurred. Puneet, who was doing his third semester, had recently bought the bike. The accident occurred in front of Vivekananda College on Dr Rajkumar Road around 4:45 pm. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Naveen was a student of KLE Society’s S Nijalingappa College in Rajajinagar. He was residing at a rented room in Rajajinagar with his brother. The police have seized the bus. The driver of the bus fled immediately after the mishap.

Mason falls to death

A mason slipped from third floor of an under-construction residential building in Soladevanahalli and died on Thursday. The deceased Rajesh Vaidya (35) hailed from Madhya Pradesh.
