BJP will win 276 seats, claims Yeddyurappa

‘Deve Gowda should maintain dignity and decorum’

Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has said that veteran leader and former prime minister Deve Gowda should maintain dignity and decorum while criticising the rivals.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of his whirlwind campaign in Byndoor here on Saturday, the former CM said that it makes no major difference, if he wants to take political retirement. The BJP and its allies will win more than 276 seats in the Lok Sabha polls.

“Gowda should think of the condition of his party in the state, rather than wasting time deliberating over other political parties. Let him predict the number of seats that the Congress and the JD(S) will be able to win in the state,” he defied.

Stating that the current political scenario is favourable than expected, Yeddyurappa said the people are fed up with the weak and futile governance of both the Congress-led UPA government and state government. Besides, there is pro-Modi wave in the country. The Modi wave will ensure that the BJP will emerge as the biggest party in the polls.

He ridiculed that  former chief minister Kumaraswamy is under the wrong impression that the BJP and the Congress are hand in glove to defeat the JD(S) in the State. Instead, the current political circumstances indicate that the Congress and  the JD(S) have joined hands to defeat the BJP.

To a query, the former chief minister said that he is confident of Shobha Karandlaje winning Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency with a margin of one lakh votes. The intelligence reports have predicted her victory. The atmosphere is favourable for Karandlaje.

He expressed his confidence that he will win with a maximum lead in Shimoga constituency, as he was banking on the development works initiated during his tenure as the Chief Minister. Besides, Modi who has emerged as the new ray of hope will change the political scenario.

Yeddyurappa said that he has completed campaigning in 26 districts in the State. The surveys conducted clearly predicted the BJP’s smooth sail across the country and also the party taking lead in the formation of the next government, he added.

Flaying a comment in the Congress website that Vajpayee is anti-Modi, the former CM said Modi was trained under BJP veteran leaders Vajpayee and Advani.

The misdeeds of the Congress to defame the BJP will not stay longer. He declined to comment over the remarks of JD(S) candidate Dhananjaya Kumar. He said that he will take part in Narendra Modi’s election rally in Chikmagalur on Sunday  and thereafter proceed to Haveri and Karwar.
