'BJP manifesto for B'lore a bundle of lies'

Last Updated 14 April 2014, 19:15 IST

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Monday alleged that the BJP’s election manifesto for Bangalore was a bundle of lies and that it was an effort to mislead people.

Addressing reporters, he said the BJP leaders are known for giving false assurances. The party has brought out the manifesto for Bangalore just four days before the elections. It is nothing but a poll gimmick. The party does not have any concern for the development of Bangalore, he charged.

Gundu Rao, who is also Bangalore district Congress president, alleged that the contribution of the BJP candidates in Bangalore South, Bangalore Central and Bangalore North,  H N Ananth Kumar, P C Mohan and D V Sadananada Gowda respectively, for the development of Bangalore is zero. They show their faces to people only at the time of elections, he alleged.

The BJP has in its manifesto said it will upgrade infrastructure in Bangalore at a cost of Rs 10,000 crore and solve garbage disposal problem. The party leaders should clarify why they did nothing when they were in power between 2008 and 2013, he asked.
