A 55-year-old woman was killed and her four-year-old grandson sustained injuries after a speeding KSRTC bus mowed them down near Hebbal on Bellary-Bangalore Road on Tuesday morning.
Their identity is yet to be ascertained, police said.
The accident occurred at 9.20 am when the woman was crossing the road with her grandson. The driver of the bus Muniraj, on way to Shiddlaghatta, lost control and struck the duo who were tossed up in the air and sustained severe head injuries.
Boy taken to Nimhans
A few locals rushed them to a nearby hospital, where the woman was declared brought dead, while the boy was shifted to Nimhans for further treatment. The woman’s body has been shifted to M S Ramaiah Hospital and Muniraj arrested.
