Man lies on tracks after spotting train, dies

A middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide by lying on the tracks after he spotted a fast-approaching train near Kammagondanahalli bridge between Yeshwantpur and Chikkabanavara stations on Tuesday morning. He was killed instantly.

The victim who is yet to be identified is aged around 35 years. No death note was found, police said.

Two run over by trains

Two persons were killed in separate accidents in the City after they were hit by speeding trains on Tuesday.

An unidentified person, aged between 35 and 40 year, was killed after he was hit by a running train while crossing the road near Kumara Krupa Park between Cantonment and City railway stations. 

In another accident, near Kadapaswamy Temple between Bangalore City and Nayandahalli stations, an unidentified person aged between 25 and 30 years was killed when a train ran him over while he was crossing the railway tracks. 

Advocate killed 

An advocate was killed in a road accident in Whitefield traffic police limits on Tuesday evening. The victim is Anantha Padmanabha, 31, was a native of Shimoga. The accident occurred at 4 pm near Kundalahalli gate, police said. A speeding two-wheeler rider struck the victim’s bike from behind. The rider of the speeding two-wheeler has been taken into custody.
