JOIN USDev Javia and S Boopathy registered contrasting wins over their opponents to set up a final clash in the boys’ category of the KTPPA-AITA National Series under-12 tennis tournament at the Tennis Village here on Friday.
Top seed Dev had it easy against Maharashtra’s Eshan Lumba 6-4, 6-4, while second-seeded Boopathy encountered stiff resistance from Orissa’s Mahesh Mohapatra before notching up a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 win en route to the summit tie.
Later in the day, Boopathy and Mohapatra joined hands to get the better of Andhra Pradesh duo of Adarsh Naga and Gaurav Kurva in the doubles final 6-4, 6-3.
Richa bagged a grand double as she partnered Prernan Vichare in defeating the pairing of Bhagya Gauri and Bhakti Parwani 6-1, 6-4 for the doubles title.
