The event was organised as part of the ‘Harley-Davidson Founders Ride’ to celebrate the arrival of the classic brands in Bangalore.

The existing owners of the brand cruised down the roads of the City on 12 selected motorcycles from Harley-Davidson’s 2010 model, offering the onlookers a rare visual treat. The convoy was flagged off from the Jayamahal Palace Hotel and moved towards Mekhri Circle. It finally halted at the historic Bangalore Palace. Throughout the spectacle parade, passers-by cheered the riders. Many youngsters were seen mesmerised by the bikes’ highly customised distinctive designs and classic looks.

The Bangalore-based owners who took part in the ride included Ashish Kothare on his Sportster XL 1000, Rohit Katti on his Centennial Limited Edition Dyna Low Rider, Tilak Thomas on his Road King and Nandish Pal on his Softail Deuce. Ashish Kothare, a businessman from the City, owns a Sportster XL 1000 and has a deep passion for his bike. “Riding my HD helps me bust out all the stress and leaves me completely relaxed. I am very happy after participating in the ride along with other owners. We all share a unique bonding and we are like family members,” he says.

Nandish Palrecha, who is into mobile phone distribution, owns a Harley Softail Deuce 2000 for the past three years. He says it is the best bike that he has ever owned and treats it as a friend.  At the Bangalore Palace, as the bikers posed for the photographs, the inquisitive spectators eagerly looked at their dream bikes which came in varied designs. “I have been dreaming of owning an ‘HD Road King’ for a long time now. I absolutely love the design and the comfort factor. After seeing the varied designs,
I couldn’t suppress my dream of riding on the bike. It is thrilling to imagine myself riding the bike at the maximum speed on highways by cutting through the wind,” says Mohanchandra, who was at the venue to have a first-hand glimpse of his favourite bike.
