The beautiful ambience of Om Made Cafe, located in Koramangala, is a relief from the mundane places to eat.

The cafe, which has been set up on an open terrace, has an interesting menu and offers a great view of the City. This quaint cafe was started by Phalgun Chidanand and Gregory, who wanted to bring their own vision of food to the City. Phalgun worked in the USA and missed the food experience when he came back to India.

“I felt the need to bring that experience to the City and wanted to start a restaurant. I worked towards making this a reality. I met Gregory and decided to start the cafe with him,” says Phalgun. The dishes served here portray the out-of-the-box thinking of the owners and the beautiful ambience adds to the entire experience. There is a wide variety to choose from, right from fresh fruit juices and various types of salads to smoothies etc.

One interesting facet about the cafe is the fact that it offers many dishes for those who don’t want to binge much and yet taste something which is not the routine. Those looking for a healthy option can try the cold raw soup of the day, raw chocolate avocado mousse along with some other options. For foodies, there is spicy juice chicken breast burger, smoky lamb burger, beetroot vada burger, pumpkin risotto, smart spaghetti which is made with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, sliced mushroom and spring onions.

For salad lovers, there is Caesar salad, tomato mozzarella salad, raw papaya salad etc. The skewer section is equally delicious with dishes like masala malai paneer skewer, chicken brochettes and fish pick, which has a Mediterranean twist to it.    Phalgun says that he does not want the quality of food to go down and hence makes sure that the team works in perfect coordination. “Teamwork is the key.

Owning a restaurant is about coordinating between your team and your customers. It is about making sure that everything works perfectly and that is the biggest challenge that we face. I love trying different cuisines and enjoy a good meal, whether it is in a big hotel or the one made by my mother,” he says.

He certainly is making the most of the food experience that he had gathered outside the country and giving the food lovers in the City something different and new to choose from. Dessert lovers can try the ‘OMC mug’, which has a mix of brownies or cookies, chocolate sauce, ice-cream and pistachio and almond. Waffle with honey, chocolates and fruits, brownie of the day, fruit tart, fruit crumble, different flavours of muffin, cookies and chocolate fudge are also in the offing. The eatery is located at 5th block Koramangala, 1st Cross Road. For details, call 25533369.
