JOIN USActor Govinda says he is amazed to see the amount of hard work put in by young Bollywood heroes like Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan.
"It feels great that people appreciate me... my work. Today's generation is very hard working. They come from well-off families and despite that they work so hard," Govinda said on the sidelines of International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) here.
The 50-year-old actor, who has starred in over 180 films, said in his heydays he only had to concentrate on acting and nothing else.
"Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan and other youngsters are working hard. We have never worked so hard. In our times we were only actors, we were not body builders. Youngsters are great they are fantastic," Govinda said.
The actor, known for tickling the funny bone of the audience with his films like 'Coolie No 1', 'Raja Babu', 'Haseena Maan Jayegi', is happy with the kind of comedy films being made today.
"I want to do entertaining films that does not mean I don't want to do comedy. I feel whatever comedy films were made in the past couple of years were appreciated as it brought business. I think anything that is well accepted cannot go wrong," Govinda said.
When asked if he is fine doing a sex-comedy, Govinda said, "I will have to check with my wife Sunita. I am open to do any film that brings smile on the face of the people. Comedy is comedy."
Govinda may have had a successful career but the actor said he never thought about being number one.
"I don't believe in the number game. They are my film titles. Actors should keep working hard and be sincere to their work. As an actor we have been here for so many years. I feel blessed. Even my daughter and son will come in this industry... I hope you all love them the same way," he said.
