Poll training held for elected representatives

A workshop was conducted to enlighten the electorate on the voting methdology.The election officials, who addressed the electorate - the elected representatives of local bodies spoke at length on the procedure to be adopted while casting vote in the Council elections.

The candidates were told that though the election code of conduct is strictly not in force, they were bound to furnish details of election expenditure to the Election Officer. The number of pamphlets printed, the place of printing and the expenditure incurred should be correctly mentioned and submitted in duplicate.

Several doubts and questions of the elected representatives were cleared in the workshop that lasted for about one-and-a-half hour.

On the other hand, a meeting of the officers posted on election duty was held at 4 in the evening. Suitable directions were given to officers entrusted with responsibilities.

Deputy Commissioner N Prabhakar and Election Observer Sadiq chaired both the meetings. Additional Deputy Commissioner S N Gangadhariaha, Additional Superintendent of Police Phaneendra Singh, Chikkaballapur Deputy Commissioner Anwar Pasha, Superintendent of Police S P Ravindra Prasad, Assistant Commissioners R S Peddappaiah, G V Seenappa, tahsildars of both the districts and other officials posted on election duty were present in the meeting.
