TN take innings lead against Karnataka

Struggling overnight at 95/3 in reply to TN’s 353, Karnataka could manage only 263 all out in 111 overs. Nitin Bhille top-scored with 65 while overnight batsman Ganesh Satish was out after scoring 56. Garry Dumenil was the most successful bowler for the hosts with figures of 4/34. TN were 39 for one in their second innings.

Brief scores: Tamil Nadu: 353 and 39/1 in 18 overs vs Karnataka: 263 all out in 111 overs (Ganesh Satish 56, Nitin Bhille 65, Adithya B Sagar 26; I Vignesh 2-66, Garry Dumenil 4-34, Murthy Prabhu 2-84).

Meanwhile, in the South Zone under-16 tournament for the Vijay Merchant Trophy, Tamil Nadu shot Karnataka out for a paltry 205 in 94.2 overs on the opening day of the four-day match on Tuesday.

Suchit J was the top-scorer for Karnataka with 50 while Vijay Kumar HR and Prithvi Singh Shekhawat chipped in with 43 and 40 respectively.
