Arvind, Sinan star in Vultures CC's victory

Pacer Sreenath Arvind and leg-spinner Sinan Abdul Qadir were the architects of Vultures Cricket Club’s easy seven-wicket win over Swastic Union Cricket Club (2) in the KSCA Group I Division I tournament for Sir Mirza Ismail Shield.

Anirudh Joshi (62) and Tejas Wagle made fine fifties as Vultures made 273 all out in their first innings, and then restricted Swastic for 148 all out.

Sinan grabbed five wickets conceding 40 runs, while Arvind took two wickets for 34 runs, handing Vultures a big innings lead of 125 runs.

Following on, Swastic managed to do marginally better in their second essay, making 176 for a lead of 51 runs.

This time Arvind led the charge of Vultures with a four-wicket haul (4-27), while Sinan supported him with two wickets (2-23). Vultures chased down the target with ease.

Shivakumar shines
BU Shivakumar’s all-round effort (3-24 & 50 n.o.) helped Friends Cricket Club beat Mount Joy Cricket Club by 10 wickets in the KSCA under-16 inter-club tournament for Group I Division I II and III teams.
Shivakumar first shone with the ball, his three-for helping dismiss Mount Joy for 125 in 34 overs.
He then hit an exact 50 not out, supporting Anirudh Vidyabhushan who cracked an unbeaten 74, as Friends CC romped to victory in just 17 overs without losing any wicket.
In another match, Young Lions registered a thrilling one-wicket win over Jolly Cricketers. The top scorer for Jolly Cricketers was Deepak S, who hit a fine 77.
