HC seeks details of fee structure at schools

 The High Court on Monday directed the government counsel to provide details of notification issued on January 7, 2014, by the government on fee structure for aided and non-aided schools.

Hearing a petition against a private school which allegedly was fleecing parents in the guise of different uniforms, Justice Ananda Byrareddy directed the government counsel to provide the details.  

The petitioners, nine students from Apollo Public School near Hegganahalli Circle, Sunkadakatte, filed a petition seeking to implement the notification about aided and unaided school fee structure.  

The school directed the students to wear school uniform worth Rs 1,500, separate tuition class uniform worth Rs 1,000 and night dress worth Rs 1,800.  

The school has also made it mandatory for students to bring food in a hot box worth Rs 500 provided by the school.

Proceedings quashed

The High Court of Karnataka on Monday quashed the Lokayukta court proceedings against Kolar Gold Fields MLA Ramakka.

A person by name Veerappa had filed a private complaint against the BJP legislator in connection with the purchase of 1.24 acres of land near Bethamangala in Kolar district. The MLA had approached the High Court seeking quashing of the proceedings. Justice S N Sathyanarayana passed the orders.
