Tutor found murdered

The Basavanagudi police said, the deceased - Aravind Basavaraj (53), a resident of Kengeri and a native of Davangere, was found dead at his institute on Dattatreya Road. There were more than half a dozen stab injuries on his body. A portion of a screw driver was left behind on his neck.

Aravind started the institute five years back. He was also into stocks and shares trading and small time business. He has two children in their early twenties.

According to his wife, he left home around noon and when he failed to turn up and communicate even after 11 pm, she panicked and decided to go in search of him.

His cellphone was ringing while the institute door was locked. On peeping through a ventilator, she saw bloodstains and rushed to the nearest police station.

The cops broke open the door and saw Aravind lying in a pool of blood in one of cabins. “It is a clear case of revenge and the police will crack the case in the next 48 hours,” said a senior investigating officer.

Youth buried under rubble

A youth was buried alive under rubble that fell on him from second floor of an under-construction building at Gayatri Nagar in Subramanyanagar on Tuesday.

The deceased, Kumar (28), a native of Tamil Nadu, was a driver-cum-supervisor of a private construction firm.

The police said, R S Gowda, a film producer had undertaken construction of the building in Gayatri Nagar. On Tuesday, work on the second floor scaffolding was supposed to have begun. Kumar was supervising the work. Gowda, a worker on the second floor, while taking support of a newly built retaining wall, was trying to pull a concrete pipe when the wall gave way and collapsed. Gowda escaped with minor injuries.

Woman commits suicide

A 25-year-old woman hanged herself, while her one-and-half year old son was having snacks at her Kundalahalli residence in Mahadevpura on Tuesday.

The police said, the deceased Sunitha, wife of Rajesh, an employee of Infinite Software Company in Whitefield, was found hanging from the ceiling. The couple were from Ananthpur and had twins. They had left the daughter with their grandparents, while the son was staying with them.

Rajesh left for the office as usual on Tuesday and called up Sunitha to inform that he had got US visa. The two conversed for sometime and even planned when Sunita would be joining Rajesh. However, Rajesh called her again but Sunitha did not respond. Growing suspicious, he returned home and was stunned to see the door locked from inside and the windows closed, while his son responded. With the help of neighbours, he broke open the door.

The cops found a death note, addressed to her father which stated - “No one is responsible, take care of my children and due to mental illness, I have taken the extreme step.” However, the sentence ‘forgive my sister’ has raised many questions.

Kolar SP suspended

The government, on Tuesday, suspended Puttaswamy, Kolar SP. The Lokayukta has arrested him on charges of accepting bribe from a constable, recently. The government suspended him based on a report from the IGP.
