Transporters' stir continues

Supported by the Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Association (FKSLOAA), the indefinite stir has affected construction work, as supply of sand and gravel has ceased and taken its cost up, according to the Truckers’ Federation.

Talks held between the Transport commissioner and the FKSLOAA went unresolved as Commissioner Bhaskar Rao said, “The Truckers’ Federation did not inform the Government, prior to going on strike. The issue of permits, as raised by them has to be resolved by the Mines and Geology Department,” he added.

The Truckers’ Federation, meanwhile, has called for the intervention of the chief minister to resolve the issue.
