Street vendors' survey to be completed in three months

 A survey of street vendors in city corporations in the State would be completed within the next three months, Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters here, Sorake said it is estimated there are around 20,000 street vendors in city corporations in the State. Following the completion of the survey, the street vendors would be issued identity cards by the government.

 He said that there was no proposal before the government to displace street vendors and deprive them of their livelihood. In case they have to be displaced, they would be suitably rehabilitated, he added.
