KEA helpline numbers not reachable

Last Updated 26 May 2014, 20:40 IST

Ahead of the Common Entrance Test (CET) results and the soon to follow CET counselling, students are having a tough time reaching out to officials as the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) helpline numbers are not accessible.

The KEA website displays four helpline numbers (080-23568201, 23568202, 23568205, 23461575) categorised in the CET 2014 section.

However, none of these numbers are accessible. When Deccan Herald tried to reach KEA on these numbers, the first number was out of order and the rest of them appeared to have been kept in the ‘busy’ mode throughout the day.

Students worried

An anxious student who was trying to reach the KEA office the whole day said the lack of response on part of the officials was just adding up to students’ confusion.

“I had several clarifications to seek. Some of my friends said students had to submit the marks sheet to the KEA. However, when I tried the numbers displayed on the website, either the number was not functioning or was engaged. After trying to get through to the officials at KEA for the entire day, I still have my queries unanswered,” the student said.

The KEA will start the seat selection process with document verification on June 2. With hardly a week before the scheduled date, students have several doubts about the seat selection and the admission process.

KEA Administrative Officer Gangadharaiah told Deccan Herald that he had deputed two of the personnel exclusively for attending to calls on the helpline.

“Two people have been assigned the work. I will look into the matter and set it right as soon as possible,” he said.
