Sprint Star bags feature

Suraj Narredu, fresh from winning the Rising Stars Championship in the International Jockey’s Weekend in Mauritius, didn’t disappoint, easing to a commanding victory to pull off a grand double of winning the Bangalore 1000 and 2000 Guineas. Having fallen behind considerably in the early and middle part of the race, Sprint Star, egged on by Suraj, went into top gear in the straight to first catch up to Corbett and Leonardo and then leave them in their wake to ease to victory by an impressive six-and-a-half lengths.

The Narredu combination also pulled off a win in the first race of the day, in what was a largely satisfying day for the punters with 6 of the 9 favourites coming in first place.
