The police have rounded up four suspects in connection with the alleged rape of a techie at her paying guest (PG) accommodation under Electronics City police limits.

According to police, the four are being interrogated and their mobile phone call details and daily activities are being probed to gather clues. The police are awaiting the medical examination report of the victim. The 25-year-old victim, who hails from Jharkhand, was working with a major software firm in the City. She was allegedly overpowered and raped by an unidentified person in her PG accommodation in the early hours of Friday.

At around 3.30 am, the accused gained access to the victim’s room, using the key that her roommate had left in the window when she left for work.

Of the four suspects, one was arrested earlier in a robbery and attempt-to-rape case.

During investigation, the police came to know that the PG accommodation housed 40 women and it did not have a security guard. It was laxity on the part of the PG facility owner, police said.
