Even as the State-run bus corporations are crying hoarse on the losses in the previous fiscal, they are not a deterrent for them to dole out freebies to its former employees.
A decision taken in the board meeting on June 7 will allow the former employees of all the four transport corporations to travel free of cost in all the ordinary and express services of all the four Corporations - BMTC, KSRTC, NEKRTC and NWKRTC, by paying a processing fee of Rs 500.
As of now, about 20,000 retired employees of all the four road transport corporations were being given 50 per cent concession to travel in all the ordinary and express services of the four corporations.
