Top amateurs for SI Golf

The cream of India’s future will be on display when the Tata Steel Southern India Amateur Golf Championship tees off at the Karnataka Golf Association here from Tuesday. 

Local lad Udayan Mane, who heads the Order of Merit list, will lead the challenge in the sixth event of the season. The field comprises 96 players. 

KGA’s very own Trishul Chinnappa, the defending champion, will be determined to hold on to the crown while seasoned campaigner Simrajeet Singh would be keen on giving his junior contenders a run for their money.

As many as 14 from the top-15 Merit List will be seen in action, including the reigning All India Amateur Champion Pratap Atwal (No 5), young Aman Raj (No 3), who is enjoying a good season after sweeping the Northern leg of the tour, and Vikram Rana (No 4).
