The murder of Sourabh Rastogi, 35, Senior Manager with Genpact, has remained a challenge for HSR Layout Police as they have not been able zero in on suspects after preliminary probe.

The police are still analysing evidences collected from the place of crime, senior police officer involved in the investigations said. The police have not obtained anything significant from the log book of Sun City Corporate Leisure apartment in Iblur, footages of CCTV and call details of the victim.

The police would question more persons to get credible leads. A special team formed to solve the case is busy collecting more details, the officer said. “We are still collecting evidence and are analysing the same. The preliminary investigation has not revealed anything significant except for a point that the assailants were known to Rastogi,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Kamal Pant said.

The police are collecting more details about those who worked with Rastogis as maids and those who visited his flat on Saturday. The apartment has been given top security. The police decided to verify antecedents and background of every visitor, he added.

The police would question Sourabh’s wife Ankisha, parents and in-laws and piece together the evidences to get clarity of vital issues. The police would also question those who worked with the victim in his workplace, police added.

Sourabh’s relatives and Ankisha reached the City and collected the body after postmortem at Victoria Hospital.

The final rites were conducted in the City thereafter.

It is said police took a person into custody and arrest him soon once convinced of his involvement. The police took him into custody after quizzing a domestic help who worked with Rastogi.

“We have not arrested anybody. We are probing and yet to ascertain background of suspects,” DCP (South East) T D Pawar said.
