With deadline for option entry of seats set to close, seats from several colleges are yet to be added to Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) seat matrix of under graduate professional courses.

The deadline for option entry for students is June 20, 2014.

However, several medical and engineering seats are yet to be included.

As far as engineering seats are concerned, seats from four universities PES, CMR, MS Ramaiah and Reva are yet to be included in the seat pool.

KEA is awaiting further information from the government. None of the higher education department officials were available for comments.

There are multiple problems delaying inclusion of seats of the universities, sources said.

“Each university has its own problems. With respect to PES, government has not yet fixed the fee committee. Each of the universities are entitled for fixing their own fees based on inputs from the government committee.

Since there has already been a delay and the committee has not been formed yet, PES has agreed to conduct admissions this year on par with CET fees. Reva too has given a similar assurance,” sources said, adding that the higher education department has to coordinate with AICTE before including the seats from these varsities.

No fresh seats added

“No fresh seats are added as on Thursday. If added we will give students an opportunity to enter the options,” KEA Director Rame Gowda said.

Some officials hinted that the seats may figure in the matrix by Friday. However, no official communication has been made in this regard.

Meanwhile, with respect to medical seats too, government's word is awaited. Seats pertaining to 12 medical institutions including deemed universities are yet to be included.

Officials in medical education department said they did not have any information on these seats until now.
