'I enjoy what I do'

Just before the release of her Kannada debut ‘Love is Poison’, Poonam Pandey flew into the City to promote the film and that’s not all.

It was Poonam who sold the tickets at the counter for her movie. “I was excited to see so many people in the movie hall and it’s not always that you get a chance to watch your movie with your fans,” Poonam tells Metrolife.

Though the actress has always been caught on the wrong foot, she isn’t complaining. Her ‘barely-there’ sense of dressing and bold appearances for several promotional activities have enraged a lot of people and even attracted some crass comments from certain section of the masses.

Poonam is doing an item number in the film. Talking more about the song, she says,
“I danced continuously for 26 hours and the dance steps were quite difficult. I had to work non-stop until I got it right.

The song has all the trappings of a typical South Indian item number.” Poonam confesses that she has been getting a lot of offers from the Kannada film industry after this appearance of hers but she is yet to give a nod to any of the projects.

“I just completed my first project. I want to see how well I am received in this industry,” she adds.

She says that it is the storyline and lyrics of the item song that impressed her the most, “The story is about being betrayed in love. The song incidently is about cricket and the winning spirit of the game. The lyrics are one of a kind,” she notes.

Poonam knows that she has set a lot of tongues wagging with the many roles she has essayed. “There are people who grab anything and everything that comes their way but I work only on the things that I am convinced about. I enjoy what I do,” she says boldly.
