Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday criticised the N Chandrababu Naidu-led government for not taking timely steps to fulfil the promises his party made.

Responding to the motion of thanks to the governor’s address, Reddy spoke for an hour and came down heavily on the government even as Telugu Desam Party members tried to obstruct his speech.

Jagan said the TDP won the elections riding on the Modi wave. “On the hand, farmers and women self help groups are waiting for the loan waiver that the TDP has assured, but the government is setting up committees after committees to frame modalities.

The future of the state’s students is also hanging in balance as the Telangana government has refused to pay for fee reimbursement ,” he said.

He urged the government to send a minister to Delhi to ensure that the NDA government  will release the assured sum for each project. “The governor, in his speech, has mentioned about the injustice meted out due to the bifurcation.

But why the TDP refused to withdraw its letter favouring bifurcation, and in later days issued two separate election manifestos,” he questioned.

Intervening the speech, Naidu urged Jagan to speak responsibly as the new state is in dire need of funds and irresponsible utterances against the Union government won’t help the state in securing funds. “It only displays your lack of experience,” Naidu said.
