Last Updated 24 June 2014, 20:21 IST

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) will organise a march on Thursday to raise awareness about drug abuse to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The march is intended to spread a message on the theme for 2014: ‘Make health your new high in life, not drugs.’ Being organised in association with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Karnataka State Temperance Board, and the Rehabilitation from Alcohol Substance Abuse and Prevention (RASP), the march will start from Town Hall circle at 10.30 am. Sunil Kumar Sinha, zonal director, Bangalore zonal unit, NCB, said drug abuse was high in areas with high floating population and around collages in the City.

While cannabis is easily available, it would be the gateway to many other synthetic drugs, he said.
