A 52-year-old businessman, who was found dead in his house in central Delhi, was killed in a conspiracy hatched by a call girl who had been meeting him for the past one year.

The 26-year-old call girl had gone to the house of Tarun Bajaj, who is a cable operator, with a teenage girl on Wednesday. Police have arrested the two call girls and two of their accomplices.

The accused have been identified as Pooja, 26, her husband Sooraj, Moni and Mohit Sharma. Moni is a 19-year-old girl who also works as a call girl.

“CCTV footage of the area and technical analysis were used to establish the identities of the four suspects,” said Sandeep Goel, Joint Commissioner of Police (Central Range).

The interrogation of the suspects revealed that Pooja used to visit Tarun’s house regularly and knew that he was rich. Pooja told police that she and her husband then planned to rob and murder Tarun.

Accordingly, Sooraj and Mohit did a recce of the house on June 21 and 23.

“Pooja had promised to give handsome money to Moni and Mohit.

On Wednesday, Pooja and Moni fixed a meeting with Tarun and later Pooja and Sooraj met Moni and Sunny near Karampura bus terminal at 11.30 am,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Alok Kumar.

From there, Pooja and Moni took an autorickshaw to New Rajender Nagar, while Sooraj and Mohit followed them on a motorcycle.

As planned, Pooja and Moni went inside Tarun’s house at 1 pm.

Later, Pooja called Sooraj on his phone and opened the door for them.

Sooraj and Mohit were carrying knives, and they immediately attacked Tarun, due to which he died on the spot.

They then ransacked the house and took away Rs 3 lakh cash and some jewellery. During the attack, Sahil and Moni also sustained knife injuries on their hands.

Sahil and Mohit then wore Tarun’s clothes as their clothes had got blood stains.

After the murder, the accused went to Pooja and Sooraj’s house in Karampura, where Moni and Mohit were paid Rs 30,000 each from the loot.

Pooja, Sooraj and Mohit then left for Dehradun in Uttarakhand.

They were caught in Dehradun with Rs 1.50 lakh cash, while Moni was arrested from outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri.

“Pooja visited Tarun’s house with other girls a number of times. Having seen his house, she planned with her husband to rob Tarun, presuming she can get huge amount of cash from the house. She involved Moni in her plan, and Sahil involved his friend Mohit,” Kumar added.
