KSE flays govt for supporting hooligans

Last Updated 05 July 2014, 17:56 IST

Legislative Council Opposition leader K S Eshwarappa took a dig at the State government for not replying to any of the questions raised by elected representatives and alleged the government of supporting hooligans.

“I wonder if the State government really exists,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after accepting felicitation from the BJP workers and Kuruba community members at KLV Circle on Saturday.

He was on his way from Bangalore to Shimoga. He criticised the government for not clarifying on the measures taken to prevent illegal sand mining, granite and stone quarrying. The government is trying to evade from the responsibility.

What is the situation of the people, if the MLA indulges in goonda activities. If the government has no information about the absconding party legislator and leaders, it only shows the government’s control over administration, Eshwarappa said.

Further commenting on the ministers for passing light remarks in the session, he said on the one hand the health minister says he is not aware for how many days he will be in power, while on the other hand energy minister says only the God can solve electricity problem. It appears as though they are not even aware of the impact of irresponsible statements on the public.

Though the Congress government has completed one year of power, no major programmes have been announced.

The style of functioning of the government will be discussed at the BJP working committee meeting in Mysore scheduled for July 12 ad 13 and plan will be mooted to fight against the negligence attitude of the government, the senior party leader said.
