With members from Telangana protesting “inadequate representation” in the Railway Budget, Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Monday assured them that their concerns would be addressed appropriately.
Participating in the debate t in the Lok Sabha, Telangana Rashtra Samithi member K Shrihari urged the government to provide more funds for railway projects in Telangana.
He also demanded setting up of rail coach factory and wagon manufacturing unit, among others, in the region. Other members from the region also supported his demand for a slew of train services in the newly-carved out state. Gowda assured the members that he would address their concerns immediately after getting the report from a committee that has been set up to look into the issues faced by the two states.
