An eagerly awaited movie, Pravarakyudu, by Madan, is a mixed bag. Taking its title from the character in the poem of legendary Telugu poet Allasani Peddanna, Pravarakyudu, offers a love tale with a twist.

While Pravarakyudu impresses in the first half, it meanders post-intermission. This campus caper tracks the destinies of Sashi Kumar (Jagapathi) and Sailaja (Priyamani).

A practical sermoniser Sashi scoffs at Sailaja’s overtures stating it is more physical than pure love. Rebuffed, the two go their ways before the two cross tracks ten years hence.

How Sashi, now lecturer and Sailaja, college principal, end up at the marital altar after renewed courtship forms the rest of the story. The lovey-dovey pair of Pellaina Kothalo light up Pravarakyudu with their performances. Priya oozes oomph in song sequences.
