Briefing reporters here, Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilisers Srikant Jena said that the proposed plastics parks or plastics clusters will be set up on the lines of food parks, and that the infrastructure will be provided for industries to operate in identified locations.
“The proposal has been sent to the Planning Commission for consideration and at this moment, it not possible to comment on when exactly the plastics parks will come up,” he said.
Further, he added that the government has initiated the process of setting up of three Petroleum, Chemicals & Petrochemical Investment Regions at Vishakhapattanam, Haldia and Gujarat to be spread over 225 square kilometers each with infrastructure facilities.
