On the cutting edge

Young people often document an individualistic and unique style that turns the spotlight on them. Clearly, they love paying attention to the finer details. Irrespective of which trend they follow, they are at ease. But what sticks their style together is oodles of attitude and confidence.

Sampurna Sengupta

This student of second-year MSc (Mass Communication) from St Joseph’s College wore a dress from DTS Market in Kolkata. She carried a bag from Lara Karen.
The dress was gifted to me by my friends on my birthday. It’s very sophisticated. I usually like wearing casuals. But when I’m attending a party, I go for dresses. Casuals are comfortable and easy going but dresses bring out the feminity in me. I believe in simple Victorian dresses.

But I often accessorise them with a neckpiece or chunky earrings. I don’t follow fashion blindly as fashion withers away with time. It’s difficult to update your wardrobe accordingly. One should have one’s own style. Depending on the mood, one can play around with dresses and colours.

A student of first year MSc (Mass Communication) from St Joseph’s College, she chose a top and pant from Levi’s. She also sported a Canon camera bag.
I feel the basic spicing up can make even casuals fashionable. They should be worn according to the body frame. When dressed intelligently and smartly, it adds to the style and confidence of the person apart from making them look good. I like casual clothing as it is easy to wear and carry  off.

I also believe that simple clothes can do wonders. Casual wear can be made to look more chic if scarves, hats, mittens, belts are added to them as accessories. Smart casuals are relaxing and have the laid-back look.

A student of MSc (Mass Communication) from St Joseph’s College, she wore a top and pants from Leher Fashions. While her sandals are from Brigade Road, she picked up her watch from Fast Track.
My favourite colour is red and black goes well with it. It looks classy and hot. I like funky transparent clothes and follow the latest trends depending on the season. As colours are the spice of life, I go for bright shades.

I like anything trendy which helps define my style and usually pick up something that has funky designs on it. Further, I like to accessorise my clothes with long chains and metal pendants. Belts are a favourite as a well-designed belt can make your attire even more beautiful. Fashion is not only about dressing well but also having the right attitude.
