Wi-Fi to be extended

After setting up Wi-Fi access locations in six places in Bangalore, the City is set to have Wi-Fi facilities in other locations as well.

In a meeting on Tuesday, Minister for IT, BT and Science & Technology and Planning & Statistics, S R Patil, said Karnataka wants to make Bangalore the first city in the country to have Wi-Fi connectivity.

“Additional locations such as Kengeri, Shivajinagar, Jayanagar, Banashankari and Vijaynagar bus stations will be added. They will be activated within two weeks. We want to have this facility in entire Bangalore and all the district capitals soon,” he said.

Free Wi-Fi facility is already available in MG Road, Brigade Road, Shanthinagar Bus Station, Kormangala Bus Station, Yeswantpur Bus Station and CMH Road-100 Feet Road junction.
The City Bus Station and Rural Bus Station in Mysore and DC Office and Vidyagiri in Bagalkot will also get Wi-Fi facility on August 15.
