In a bizarre incident, a 36-year-old driver of a mini lorry died of suspected cardiac arrest, while trying to flee after his vehicle collided head-on with a cab near Kudlu Gate junction on Hosur Road early Tuesday morning.

The Madiwala traffic police gave the name of the deceased as Parshuram from Bellary.
According to the police, as Parshuram approached Kudlu Gate junction at around 5 am, a speeding cab collided head-on with his mini lorry.

Assuming that the driver of the cab might have died, Parshuram alighted from his vehicle and started running. He ran around 300 metres and collapsed. Later, it was found that he had died of suspected cardiac arrest, the police said.

The cab driver, who was identified as Nitin Kumar, 26, a native of Kanakapura and resident of Hanumanthanagar, also fled the spot on hearing Parshuram had died.

“A case of unnatural death has been registered and the police are waiting for the autopsy report to confirm if Parshuram had indeed died of cardiac arrest.

It is suspected that he might have died also of shock fearing the cab driver might have died of injuries he had suffered in the collision. But none of them was injured in the accident,” said a senior police officer.
