BJP's defeat will be discussed at party forum: Medappa

Medappa who had reacted soon after the election results that he got defeated due to his own party leaders, did not reveal their names during a press conference on Tuesday.

“Though I visited all local bodies in the last 14 months and raised voice in the Council regarding their problems, I did not get expected number of votes. It is strange. I will discuss the issue in a party forum,” he said. He did not answer any questions clearly.

“It is a sorry state that BJP had to experience defeat in its own strong hold. It is really surprising that people supported T John, a weak candidate who never responded to the development needs of the district. But I admit my defeat. It’s not new to me. It’s not my attitude to sit inside home afraid of defeat,” Medappa said.

BJP District Organising Secretary B D Manjunath said the party State leaders are collecting information in connection with the party’s defeat in the district.

However, neither Medappa nor Manjunath did answer the questions on the lack of unity among the BJP leaders and differences of opinion.
