Permission for 'Lingaa' shooting opposed

Last Updated 26 August 2014, 19:17 IST

A pro-Kannada organisation has opposed the permission granted for shooting Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Lingaa’ at the Linganamakki dam.

Sama Iliyas, the leader of the organisation said that allowing film shooting near the dam might prove a threat for the sensitive location. He said that entry of public to the dam has been prohibited for security reasons and hence permission should not have been granted for shooting the film.

When contacted, noted writer Na D’Souza told Deccan Herald that the dam authorities need to reconsider their decision in this regard.

He said, “The entry of public to the dam has been prohibited as Linganamakki dam is on the hit list of terrorists. Now, a number of persons and vehicles are plying in and around the dam for shooting purpose. It may pose threat to the dam,” he said.
