KSPCB to run mobile immersion vehicles

Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has arranged mobile tankers through its regional officers in order to facilitate the public for immersing Ganesha idols on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi on Friday.

 The details are as follows: 

In Bangalore South and East, in areas covering Jayanagar 4th Block, Hanumanthanagar, Jeevan Bimanagar and Ulsoor the timings are from 4 pm to 10 pm. 

The timings for immersion vehicle movement in Peenya is from 4.30 pm to 10 pm. Some of the prime areas that will be covered are Ganapathinagar, Peenya 2nd Stage, near Laggerre Park and KIADB quarters. In areas coming under Dasarahalli division, vehicles will move between 4.30 pm and 10 pm and will cover T Dasarahalli, Harohalli village, Sunkadakatte, Hegnahalli Cross and Nelagadaranahalli Circle. 

Vehicles will cover Malleswaram, Yelahanaka, HBR Layout, Nelmanagala, Dobbespet, Doddaballapur, Sanjayanagar, Siddanayakanahalli, Arkavathi,, Bommanahalli, Bannerghatta Road, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Sarjapur, Attibele, Bommasandra Industrial Area and Anekal from 4 pm to 10 pm. 

Lakes identified

The BBMP has identified many lakes including Ulsoor lake, Sankey Tank for the immersion of Ganesha idols during the Ganesha festival in the City.

The BBMP has created separate immersion tanks within the lakes for the immersion of idols to reduce the level of pollution in these water bodies.

The BBMP is also working in tandem with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board to save the lakes from getting polluted during the Ganesha festival, which stretches for almost three months. It has devised mobile Ganesha immersion tanks where people can immerse Ganesha idols.
