Two arrested for faking branded jeans

The CCB police have raided a fake branded jeans production unit on Devarachikkanahalli Road and seized apparel, 40 sewing machines worth Rs 40 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, the police swooped down on Excel Designers in Madivala Royal Shelters Layout where they arrested Sheik Khareemulla, 50, a resident of HSR Layout and Anil Yadav, 22, of Shivajinagar, who were allegedly involved in faking jeans trousers of international brands, police said.

Khareemulla is the owner of Excel Designer while Yadav used to manage the washing unit. Their three associates - Sujith, Venkatarama and Ramachandra - are absconding, police added.
