A 20-year-old youth was injured after the car he was travelling by rammed a roadside stone pillar near KH Circle under Wilson Garden traffic police limits in the early hours of Monday.

Police have identified the driver as Hemanshu, 20, and the injured as Ayush Choudhary.  Choudhary, a resident of Yediyur lake in Jayanagar 7th block, is being treated at a private hospital and is said to be out of danger.

Police said the accident occurred when Hemanshu lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn and rammed the seven-foot tall pillar, installed by the Palike, around 3.50 am. Due to the impact of the crash, the pole collapsed on the front portion of the car.

While Hemanshu escaped unhurt, Ayush, who was sitting next to him, suffered injuries. Passersby called the police who rushed to the spot and took the injured to a hospital. They added that reckless driving coupled with speeding led to the accident.
