“There won’t be too much experimentation. You will see maximum one or two guys playing the game. But overall we will go with a strong team because 4-1 margin looks always better. It’s the last game before the new year so obviously we would like to win this game and finish the year on a winning note,” he said during his pre-match press-do on Saturday.

The performance of young guns like Rvindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli and to an extent Dinesh Kaarthick has been impressive and the fact that India hardly felt the absence of Dhoni and Yuvraj has delighted the captain no end. “All along we have maintained that there is no dearth of talent in India, but it’s just that whenever they get their chances and exposure, they need to do well at the international level and that’s what they have showed; whether it’s Ravindra Jadeja or Virat Kohli.

Whoever got the chance to play has done well. It’s ok to miss guys as individuals, but it’s important that you don’t miss them on the field. The onus then will be on youngsters and they have proved their worth, which is a good sign for the team,” he stated. Dhoni felt it was a situation which augured well for the future. “This augurs well for the team because a lot of times after a long season you might lose some players either due to injuries or sometimes you may want to rest a couple of individuals. It’s very important for players to step in and perform. The way they are batting and bowling, it’s really great to see them perform.

And also the fielding standard goes up, because they are young, fresh and their basics are more correct than some of the other individuals in the side. The way they play cricket these days, all the new guys who come into the side are great fielders,” Dhoni explained.
