Actor Sathish Ninasam, who rose to fame for his role in the Kannada film Lucia, says he is choosy about the films he does.

“I have to be careful with every step. I don’t want to be repetitive when I take up a role,” he adds.

When asked what kind of roles he usually keeps his eyes peeled out for, he says, “The character I choose should tell the story in the best way possible and it should be current.

I don’t want scripts that are regular; I want my character to be a little different from the rest and yet people should be able to relate to it.” The actor is currently promoting his next movie, ‘Love in Mandya’.

He is also working on another movie titled ‘Rocket’ and says it is a romantic story about a trendy guy who has just graduated from college.

“People haven’t seen me in such an avatar before.

The story is set in a college backdrop and it’s a very stylish film.”

The film was shot in Bangalore and Madikeri. ‘Love in Mandya’ is a film shot in Mandya, Bangalore and Madurai.

Talking about why he started acting, he says, “I started with theatre; now it’s my life and it has become a habit.”

He adds that although Lucia was his big break, he can’t pick a favourite movie because all of them are special in some way or the other.

What plans does he have for the future? He says he wants to produce and direct as well. “I will take up writing too because whatever doesn’t suit me, I like to take it on as a challenge.” He is also looking at a Tamil project. “Life is an inspiration and I want to live it to its fullest,” he says.

He adds that he has always been attached to farming and hopes that at some point he will be able to take to it. “I like farming a lot and I will definitely do it,” he says optimistically.

What advice does he have for the new breed of actors? “Struggle and strive to be the best. Sometimes, even if you do your best, you might not get results but don’t give up. Just give it your best and move on,” he says.

He adds, “There will be actors who are going to be better than me but that isn’t going to stop me from doing my work.”
