As many as 157 spots prone to rain accidents have been identified in City, according to Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy.

Addressing a review meeting with Mayor Shanthakumari and ward-level engineers on measures taken up by the BBMP here on Friday, the minister said that ward engineers should ensure no accidents occur at these places. Engineers from Revenue and Health departments should be at these spots during rains and co-ordinate with control rooms for ensuring safety to citizens, he said.

Reddy said that during rainy season, an official each from Bescom and BWSSB should be deputed to BBMP control rooms for handling complaints effectively.

“Hosmat Hospital Road is in bad state and needs asphalting. Despite instructions to Assistant Engineer Rame Gowda, no action has been taken,” the minister said, adding that a 10-day deadline to asphalt the road has been given.
