Cops nab gang that raped woman as husband watched in horror

 Police have managed to hunt down four men who had allegedly gang-raped a 25-year-old woman at her home in HSR Layout last month, even as her husband and mother-in-law watched in hororr and utter helplessness.

In another development, police arrested a 35-year-old man  on the suspicion that he molested a seven-year-old girl in Begur in October.

The police said that on the night of October 24, four men had knocked on the door of the family’s house. When the woman’s husband opened the door, they introduced themselves as policemen. They told him they wanted to search the house as they “suspected” the family was peddling marijuana and beer.

The armed men then barged into the house and threatened the inhabitants not to raise an alarm.They asked the man to hand over the cash and valuables or else they would kill his wife. The man handed over some cash and jewels and asked them to leave.

But they ignored his pleas and started to forcibly undress his wife. Then with her sari, they tied the husband and mother-in-law and gagged them.

They also gagged the victim and raped her in front of her husband and mother-in-law. The gang then filmed the entire act on the mobile phone of one of them. Before fleeing the spot, they threatened the family that they would leak the video online if they approached the police.

According to police, the victim and her husband managed to free themselves and went on to tell their neighbours about their horror.

They approached the police on October 28 and initially told them that they were robbed. But during a spot inspection by the police, they narrated the whole incident.
A senior police officer said, “Based on this, we zeroed in on Nandish, Anil Kumar, Sujith and Simon, all residents of Kalena Agrahara, and arrested them.

They have confessed to the crime. The victim also identified the suspects from the photographs shown to her.

“Nandish is said to be a notorious thief, and has several cases of robbery, dacoity and attempt to murder registered against him.”

Relative molests 7-yr-old

A seven-year-old girl is suspected to have been molested by a 35-year-old man in Begur near Electronics City. Police arrested the suspect on Tuesday.

According to police, on October 15, the girl, who was playing near her friend’s house, was molested by Nagaraj, a private factory employee and a native of Chikmagalur. He had come to Bangalore around four months ago.

The incident came to light when the child asked her father to buy her popcorn from a shop near her house. The father gave her money and asked her to buy it herself. But the girl refused to go and said that she was scared to go near the shop.

When the parents enquired about the reason, she disclosed that the person staying next to the shop had touched her at inappropriate places when she was playing there with her friend.

The parents approached the police and lodged a complaint on November 2. The suspect, who was absconding, was arrested on Tuesday.
