Cabinet reshuffle after board, corpn appointments: CM

Last Updated 07 November 2014, 19:51 IST

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said he would reshuffle his Cabinet once appointments to boards and corporations were made.

The CM, who was here along with Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara to meet Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, refused to set any deadline for completing the exercise of appointment to boards and corporations or Cabinet reshuffle.

“I will come to Delhi again on November 16 to meet the party top brass to finalise the appointments to boards and corporations. After that, a minor reshuffle will be made in the Cabinet,” he said.

On meeting Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah said the Congress vice president had been calling different state leaders on strengthening the party and “we have given our suggestions”.

Report card

The chief minister recently started compiling a report on the performance of each of his Cabinet colleagues to be submitted to the party high command.

The Chief Minister’s Office has started collecting information about the ministers with the help of department heads and district in-charge secretaries mainly about the number of review meetings held by each minister, implementation of budgetary programmes and schemes and file clearance.

The CM is likely to submit the report on the ministers’ performance to the high command on his next visit to Delhi and to seek permission to drop some of his colleagues and induct fresh faces.
