Shubha Punja, actressThe family man of Raam, Puneeth

Rajkumar welcomes the New Year with his family and hopes that like 2009, the coming years too remain the same. “I always wish for good health and peace of mind,” says Puneeth. Ask him where he sees the industry in the New Year, he replies, “This year too, I hope people will support the industry and watch Kannada movies as there are new talents coming up.”

With movies like Prithvi, Jackie and a home production in the pipeline, there is also news of him moving into direction. He says, “That is a long-term plan but it will not happen this year as I want to concentrate on my acting now.”

Radhika Gandhi

For the bubbly Radhika Gandhi, every New Year is a special day because it’s also her birthday. “This year is extra special as my movie Sri Harikathe is also releasing on January 1. I am both nervous and excited,” says the birthday girl, while adding, “I don’t party a lot so I keep my New Year celebrations to just home.”

Shubha Punja

Shubha Punja may not have had many releases last year but she sure did feel on top of the world when she won the best supporting actress award for Moggina Manasu.  As for welcoming the New Year, Shubha says that she has been doing the same thing for the past four years. “I have always made it a point to stay at home because there is so much chaos on the roads and I feel it’s unsafe to be out during New Year’s Eve,” she says.
As for resolutions, she says, “I don’t believe in resolutions because I can never really keep them.” She adds, “But I would like to tell all my fans to keep supporting the Kannada film industry and come to the theatres and watch movies.”

Hiten Tejwani

Hiten Tejwani makes it a point to spend the New Year with his family. “This year will be a special one especially since we have two little ones who have entered our lives. As for resolutions, I don’t believe in making any because I feel one does not have to wait for a New Year to make resolutions,” he adds.
