Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of marketing a dream that may never come true.

Addressing the Congress workers after inaugurating Indira Gandhi birth anniversary celebrations and laying the foundation for the construction of Congress Bhavan on Queen’s Road, he said youth had started realising the true value of Modi’s dream.

“The value of the dream he (Modi) had created is falling rapidly like onion prices. People should be cautious about his scheme of things,” he said.

He also accused the prime minister of claiming credit for things which had nothing do with his government’s decision. For example, fuel prices are coming down because of falling prices of oil in the international market. But Modi has been claiming credit for it, he said.

Modi has been making grand speeches abroad. He projects as if it is because of his efforts that professionals from India have settled down across the globe.

“He (Modi) should remember that India has been able to generate quality doctors, engineers and professors because of the efforts made by Nehru (Jawaharlal Nehru), Indira (Indira Gandhi) and Rajiv Gandhi,” he claimed.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hailed Indira Gandhi as a champion of the poor.

‘Law will take its course’

Later speaking to mediapersons, Parameshwara said the law would take its own course as far as action against the ministers facing charges of illegal land dealings was concerned.

The Opposition BJP is trying to create confusion in the minds of people, he said, replying to a question whether the party would ask the chief minister to take action against the ministers.

Parameshwara said he and the chief minister would leave for Delhi either on Wednesday or Thursday to get the approval of the party high command to a list of names prepared for appointments to boards and corporations.
Chairmen and vice chairmen will be appointed in the first phase, he said.
