'I am choosy about scripts'

Diana Penty moved away from the limelight after her first movie Cocktail. But at the opening of an apparel store recently she looked stunning and confident in black skinny jeans and a denim jacket and came to the store with her head held high.

The actress has sizzled on the ramp as well as made a name for herself in the film industry with her performance in Cocktail. She has been keeping a low profile post that and even now, refuses to reveal her upcoming projects as she politely explains,
“Everybody will come to know when I sign any project soon.”  

She is as choosy about her scripts as she is about bags and shoes. Diana doesn’t have a dream role or a particular actor she wants to work wit. She has also rejected many films due to a weak script.

The newcomer cannot be forgotten after Cocktail as she was appreciated for her performance in it. Ask her about her experience of working in the film and she says that she was scared and intimidated initially.

“I am not from a ‘filmi’ background and had no experience before Cocktail. I was also acting with established stars like Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone so I was very nervous. However, the actors and directors were very helpful, took me under their wing and trained me. My first break, Cocktail, was a life-changing experience,” she recalls.
 
As a fresh face in the industry, she feels that she has come a long way and feels that it’s a great time for youngst­ers, be it actors or directors, to be in the industry. She also feels that the field has seen a lot of changes thanks to a number of new ideas.

At the launch, the actress described her style statement as “laid-back, casual and effortless.”  This was reflected in her attire, the hint of mascara and the high-heels she
was sporting.
