A date with horror

Kannada film industry is incomplete without comedian Komal. He literally brightens up the film and does well to make people laugh. Komal has pinned a lot of hope on his latest release Namo Bhoothathama which he describes as the first-of-its-kind horror-comedy film in Kannada.

“The movie traces whether ghosts really exist and attempts to understand why people blindly believe in the concept of ghosts,” explains Komal. He thinks ghosts exist only in the mind, “It’s hallucination at its best because there’s always a sense of curiosity surrounding anything that is mysterious. One cannot give a concrete form to a ghost but I believe that the theory of paranormal activity really exists,” shares Komal.

Komal is popular for his comedy roles but he confesses that comedy doesn’t come easily to him. “Comedy is all about timing and getting the act right at that moment,” he adds.

Interestingly, Komal who is  5 feet and seven inches tall has acted with Kumar who is  7 feet and eight inches tall and plays the role of a security guard. “I know Kumar for a long time now and have helped him in a crisis situation. His height fascinated me and he has indeed attracted a lot of attention in the movie. I only come up to his abdomen,” he reasons.

Komal says that he thoroughly enjoyed acting in his film because it deals with the concept of ghosts which never ceases to fascinate people of  all age groups.
